Były wpadki i potknięcia. Czy od początku organizowania gali oscarowej towarzyszył taki splendor i taka ranga? Otóż nie.

Dziennikarze znali listę laureatów już trzy miesiące wcześniej. Za wstęp goście musieli zapłacić 10 dolarów. Przez te wszystkie czynniki, ceremonią mało kto się zainteresował. Organizatorzy naprawili jednak ten błąd. Kolejne rozdanie nagród Amerykańskiej Akademii Filmowej zdecydowanie różniło się z poprzednią galą.

Gdyby nie jeden wyciek, taka praktyka byłaby utrzymana do dnia dzisiejszego. A to przez opublikowanie przez "Los Angeles Times" tuż przed ceremonią listę zwyciezców. Od tamtego czasu pieczętowano i pilnie strzeżono koperty z nazwiskami.
